Brain Breaks

Sometimes we take a brain break in class.  This is a time where we stop and do something that has nothing to do with what we are learning.  It is purposefully done, as it re-energizers the brain by getting blood and oxygen flowing.  It is like a refresh button for the wise leader, or the frontal lobe.  These brain breaks have been researched and really work to regain focus and help learning to stick rather than going in one ear and out the other.  You may find these are great when doing homework with your child.  You could do them before or half way through to help your little one get energized and focused.

Videos

We use lots of fun videos to help us learn while getting our wiggles out.  Your child may have talked about some of these songs, so I decided this would be a great way for the kids to continue to practice skills at home.

Have Fun Teaching is one of our favorite video creators.

Here is the Alphabet Song.

I am so excited to be posting for the first time every to my very own class blog. My idea is to use this as a home & school connection, connecting my students and their families from the classroom to home.  Be patient as this is very brand new to me, but know that my desire is use this as a way to show my students that you never stop learning and trying new things.
